本區(qū)山體高度一般約為1000～1500m，人類活動主要在1000m以下。800～1000m以上基本是林農(nóng)濕冷氣候?qū)樱稀⒅小⒈眮啛釒в兴鶇^(qū)別。水稻種植上限高度，中亞熱帶可達1200～1400m，北亞熱帶為900m左右。北亞熱帶玉米種植上限高度達1500m左右。采取分散小群放牧的方式可以利用草山發(fā)展養(yǎng)牛、養(yǎng)羊業(yè)。
溫帶，有廣義和狹義之分。廣義來講說，除了寒帶和熱帶以外的所有地區(qū)都屬于溫帶，故而亞熱帶和亞寒帶都屬于廣義溫帶的范疇。狹義的溫帶則不包括亞熱帶和亞寒帶。四季分明是溫帶氣候的zui顯著特點。
我國大部分地區(qū)都屬于溫帶氣候。從分布來看，溫帶氣候的情況比較復(fù)雜多樣。根據(jù)地區(qū)的降水特點的不同，可分為溫帶季風(fēng)性氣候、溫帶大陸性氣候、溫帶海洋性氣候、亞熱帶季風(fēng)氣候和地中海氣候幾種類型。由于溫帶氣候分布地域廣泛，類型復(fù)雜多樣，從而為生物創(chuàng)造了良好的氣候環(huán)境，形成了豐富的動植物界。
有些研究者根據(jù)地球各地接受太陽照射的狀況及晝夜長短的變化，將地表各地劃分為五個熱量帶，即熱帶、北溫帶、南溫帶、北寒帶、南寒帶。介于熱帶與寒帶之間，太陽斜射，得到中等程度的熱量，為溫帶。北回歸線與北極圈之間為北溫帶。南回歸線與南極圈之間為南溫帶。氣候特點主要表現(xiàn)為冬季比亞熱帶更冷，一般zui低月均溫都在0°C以下。溫帶氣候既包括比較溫和多雨的海洋氣候，也包括四季分明且比較干燥的大陸性氣候。溫帶的大多數(shù)地區(qū)位于西風(fēng)帶內(nèi)。溫帶處于中緯度地區(qū)，南北溫度梯度大，氣候有極大差異。溫帶如此大的面積，與實際氣候特點分布差異較大。因此，廣義的溫帶包括亞熱帶、暖溫帶、中溫帶、寒溫帶和亞寒帶。狹義的溫帶一般又分為三個帶，即：暖溫帶、中溫帶、寒溫帶。
